I live in Gifu, a quiet region in central Japan surrounded by nature and tradition.
I'm someone who fell in love with the spirit of kintsugi, and decided to share it with travelers seeking something real, something traditional.
what we offer
At kintsugi nook, we offer a unique opportunity to experience the art of kintsugi using only traditional techniques — no synthetic materials, no shortcuts. We work exclusively with real urushi lacquer and genuine gold powder, staying true to the spirit of this centuries-old Japanese craft.
Normally, authentic kintsugi takes several months to complete, as the urushi must cure slowly under carefully controlled conditions. However, through thoughtful preparation and mindful arrangement, we’ve designed a workshop that allows you to take part in the most meaningful and beautiful highlight of the process—applying the gold finish—and still bring your piece home the same day.
This is not a simplified or decorative version. It’s a respectful glimpse into the true essence of kintsugi, crafted with intention.

私は、日本のほぼ真ん中にある自然豊かな地域・岐阜で暮らしています。
ここは、昔ながらの文化とゆったりとした時間が息づく静かな場所です。
金継ぎという日本の伝統技術に出会い、その精神に心を惹かれました。
壊れた器を直すという行為の中に、「ものを大切にする心」や「再生の美しさ」を感じたのです。
この素晴らしい文化を、ほんものの日本を体験したいと願う世界中の人たちに伝えたいと思っています。
わたしたちが提供できること
kintsugi nookでは、本漆と純金粉だけを使用した伝統的な金継ぎ体験を提供しています。
合成素材や簡易的な方法は使いません。何百年も受け継がれてきた金継ぎの本質を、そのまま体験していただけます。
本来、金継ぎの修復は数ヶ月もの時間を要します。漆がゆっくりと呼吸しながら硬化するためです。
しかし、kintsugi nookでは丁寧な準備と工夫により、金を施す最も美しい瞬間に立ち会いながら、当日に作品をお持ち帰りいただける体験を実現しました。
本物の金継ぎの精神を尊重しながら、その核心部分に触れることができる特別な時間です。
