VISTA COURSE - Traditional Kintsugi Highlight Experience

Discover the essence of traditional kintsugi in VISTA COURSE - a 90-minute kintsugi experience using genuine urushi lacquer and metallic powder of your choice. For this workshop, we prepare each broken piece in advance (through traditional repair techniques) and brings it to the stage just before the final touch with metallic powder application (kin-maki). You will perform the highlight of kintsugi yourself: tracing the repair with urushi and dusting the piece with metallic powder to complete the finish.

    What to Expect:

    1. Introduction & overview
      Learn about the philosophy of kintsugi and the limitations of a one-day experience. You will also take a look at demonstration of the initial repair process.
      (for learning only.)

    2. Choose your piece
      Select from our curated collection of pre-repaired pieces (sizes/designs vary). Note: certain premium pieces may incur an additional fee. These pieces are prepared specifically for you to complete the final metallic powder application step.

      • The design and size of available pieces vary depending on the timing/availability.

      • We offer a wide selection, from antique Japanese vessels to modern and Western ceramics - find one that speaks to you.

    3. Trace with urushi

      Under instructor guidance, trace the repair lines with urushi lacquer where needed for final adhesion of metallic powder.

    4. Apply metallic powder

      Carefully apply the metallic powder onto the lacquered lines to reveal the kintsugi.

    5. Finish & brief care instructions

      Quick guidance on how the piece will cure and how to care for it at home. You will take the piece home if the preparation allows; otherwise we’ll explain pick-up/shipping or follow-up options.

このワークショップでは、100％天然の本漆（うるし）を使用し、 仕上げにはお好みの金属粉を蒔いていただきます。

VISTAコースでは、本漆と本物の金属粉を使った伝統的な金継ぎのハイライトを90分で体験できます。

講師が割れた器を事前に伝統的な技法で修理し、最終仕上げ直前の状態に整えます。お客様は最後の「金蒔き」の工程を自ら行い、作品を完成させます。

    体験の流れ：

    1. はじめに（イントロダクション＆概要説明）

    金継ぎの哲学や、「1日でできる体験」としての限界について学びます。
    また、割れた器の修復プロセスの一例をデモンストレーションとしてご覧いただきます。
    （※デモで使用する器は、漆が乾くまで時間がかかるため、お持ち帰りはできません。）

    2. 器を選ぶ

    kintsugi nookが数ヶ月かけて伝統的な技法で修復した陶器の中から、お好みのものをお選びいただきます。この器は、金属粉を蒔いて仕上げる「最終工程」のために特別に準備されたものです。

    ご用意している器のデザインやサイズは時期によって異なります。

    古い日本の器、現代の陶器、西洋の器など、さまざまなスタイルの中から「あなたに語りかける一枚」をお選びください。

    3. 漆でなぞる

    講師の指導のもと、金粉を定着させるための漆を割れ線に丁寧になぞります。

    4. 金属粉を蒔く

    伝統的な金継ぎの最終工程である、金属粉を漆の上に丁寧に蒔き、美しく仕上げます。

    5. 仕上げ、お手入れの説明

    乾燥・養生の方法と、持ち帰り／受け取りに関する案内を行います。場合によっては後日受け取りや配送対応になります。
